Mostly we use it in our deep oil fryer. We purchased a fryer for frying our fish and chicken which is only 8 inches deep. This is perfect to ensure that the oil temp is maintained between batches.It cleans up very easily. It is easy to read. It is accurate. And serves our purposes. We purchased a second one to leave at the cabin, since it is easier to read and clean than the one we used to have up there.
